Major Function
Lead and manage the HR Business Partner Team for WWF-US.  Design and implement HR strategies that align with industry best practices.  Work as business partner with senior leaders, managers and employees in assigned departments to understand short and long term needs, planning and projects and align HR consultation and support based on departmental needs.  Recommend proactive ideas and solutions, partner with them on activities and keep them informed. Ensure HR best practices are used and activities are in compliance with all relevant laws.  Work closely with HR team and other operations departments to achieve results.    
Key Responsibilities
  • Set the strategy for and lead the HR Business Partner Team which includes the management of business partner staff.  Ensure HR Business Partner function has strong working relationships within the organization.  Establish relationships with key leaders and managers to better understand needs in a variety of HR areas.  Provide regular communication and updates on HR issues as appropriate.
  • Suggest initiatives, solutions or ideas to better serve WWF’s priorities and meet needs of staff and management. This may be through training, development, organizational structure, team or job structure, or coaching.
  • Conduct training across the organization on HR policies, and facilitate interpersonal and management development activities, such as DiSC, Crucial Conversations, and other teambuilding sessions.
  • Lead and/or serve as integral part of HR initiatives that occur on a regular or ad hoc basis such as 360 feedback, job descriptions updates, and the performance review process, climate/culture surveys, etc.  Ensure that project activities are aligned with organizational priorities, deadlines and deliverables are met, and make suggestions on how to improve projects for the benefit of WWF and its staff.  Consult with employees and managers on a variety of employee relations matters.  Coach managers and employees on performance improvement and conflict resolution.
  • Collaborate on recruitments within customer groups.  May participate in interviews, conduct assessments and other methods to help assess and select top candidate. May work with recruiters on final offers to candidates and consult as needed on filling open positions.  May also work with Program Administrators on secondments and other organizational hires and agreements that that require special arrangements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required.  Master’s preferred but not required. 
  • Position requires 10 years of experience in Human Resources, including at least 5 years of employee relations, training and development experience. 
  • Experience in other HR areas is a plus including Diversity and Inclusion and organizational development.
  • Strong management skills; able to develop plans and manage to results.
  • Strong consulting skills.
  • Able to build long-term, trusting relationships with clients and with HR colleagues.
  • Excellent communication skills:  oral, written, listening.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Strong facilitation skills.
  • Working knowledge of appropriate HR laws and regulations.
  • Passion for conservation and WWF’s mission.
